2 layouts in one day

Just two layouts that I was able to get done today and I am going for more! Wanted to share these. I am always excited when I scrap a photo that is only a week old! The top one is from our valentines shoot. Note: this page was just one of the many photos chosen that he had that little smirk. Grrrrrrrr! So I was inspired to do a layout, wohoohh! Although I really got some excellent photos too that day. I'll post those another time. Later Taters.

encourage art.

I love what he does. Just wanted to some of Jason's projects from this past weekend. A self portrait of himself and a paper person, also of himself, with legs and arms too! Jason knows that nothing is off limits when it comes to art in this house. He has all access to my stash. Paints, tape, glue, glitter, stickers, playdough, absolutely anything to encourage art. I love this kid! XOXOXOXO

3 projects with 2 papers

Okay, so I am loving the American Crafts line right now. Which is good cause I have been on a Ki kick. When I did the "the moment i found out you were cool album" (view older posts to see it!)the papers were so good together that I wanted to use them on something else too. I did the title page for our 2007 album, loved how it turned out ans decided to make project number 3, a travel album. And that's all, just kraft paper and a sheet of patterned paper. Added some embellishments and woohoooooooo!! And finally here are some photos of my valentines. Just an embellished paper sack with chocolate! Yummm! I think I did nine total. They were a big hit.

meet steve.

The Dake's first family pet. That's right, we have a pet. Jason is always asking about pets, but we are just really not in the position for a "real" pet. We move and vacation way too much. Anyway when we were at Walmart yesterday, browsing the toys, I saw the fish. I was so sad by the way they are handle there. I mean, it's Walmart for cryin out loud, and the betas are all in like 1" of water, probably rarely fed and half dead, so I felt like we were able to rescue at least one! I know, goofy right? Meet Steve.

Well you can imagine Jason's excitement! We got the bowl, a few supplies, picked the fish and we were on our way. NOTICE: I WENT WITH A SOLID COLOR FISH IN CASE OF EMERGENCY REPLACEMENT! Next I asked Jason what he wanted to name the fish. I was thinking he'd say Thomas for sure, but he said, "Umm, Steve." What a choice! I thought it was perfect, but wondered where that name came from. We came straight home and got Steve's home all set up. Later I spoke to his preschool teacher and found out the the class fish's name is Steve.

Sneak Peek.

So I wanted to share a sneak peek of my valentines!! And I also need to tell you about this new line of glue...UHU!! I just love saying that name. Anyway I got some free samples for being a pro scrapper and they have asked me to rate this product..I totally LOVE it!! The glue tube in the photo is a scrapbookers pen and it flows easily like a pen, go figure! There was a quick dry time with NO wrinkling, a big plus in my book! I have had no problem with the tip clogging. I did also try their Twist & Glue, but was not a fan of the dispensing and it TOTALLY wrinkle a page that I had to throw away! BUT upon reading the back it does not say that it doesn't wrinkle and it does glue a whole range of products including: cardboard, felt, cork, wood, fabric, and others such as metal and glass. Don't forget they make glue sticks too! Anyway you can try it yourself and learn more by visiting UHU here.

and the winners are,

Congratulations, ladies! I had so, much fun with this RAK that I chose TWO winners! Lucky you! The scan is bad. Those were the papers from the drawing and I had a special helper to draw them, Jason! I love all you message board gals. So email me your address and I will get them out on Thursday. Be sure to check back and play along next time, this was way too fun. Thanks again! See you all soon!

new project.

Just wanted to show you all my new side project. It is just chipboard and measures 5.75" x 8" I saw something like this on peas once and loved it. I needed a break from pages and wanted to do a mini something. This album will just have photos of people I love and why I think they are sooo cool. Don't worry, Lewis, even though you are a nerd you will have a page too :) I won't post many pages cause this is just for me, but here are my 1st two to give you an idea of what this lil album will hold.

mall of america,

here we come! So excited my visitor's guides came today! We are taking the kids and going to Bloomington, Minnesota for 3 days to visit the MOA!! This will be our family's first time there. And of course, with kids, we are going to the Underwater Adventures aquarium, the Dinosaur Walk museum, Lego Land and the theme park. Not to mention that the mall has over 520+ shops and 50 restaurants. Did I mention an Archivers and Build a Bear? Wohoooo!! This is going to be so much fun...

dude, i am getting (another) Dell

Happy Valentine's Day to me! You are looking at my present from the hubby, but I still better get a card too! It's a Inspiron 1705. We had been talking about getting me a laptop for all my stuff and then the home computer will be for the hubby and kids. He had it customized for me and it will be here in 3 to 5 days! The only things I know about are that it has a 17" screen, we added a bigger graphics card and went up to 120 giga bites of storage. It is ready for wireless. The last thing we need is an airtime card for me to use it when we are traveling and are unable to connect to a wireless network.

BUT that is only the good news. I am home sick with Jason today. He has a fever and was puking this morning. He is pale and just laying around. Hopefully it is just a quick bug and he will be as good as new tomorrow.

Also just another quick layout from yesterday. I think I might stop layouts to do some small projects because I feel like all my layouts have all been similar lately. I have been diggin circle stamps, paper tearing, rummage letters (always a fave tho), Doodlebug stickers and rounded corners.

Anyway on with my Tuesday. Have a good day :) Later.

can you judge a book by its cover?

I am hoping so with this one. I picked it up yesterday at Waldens for $7.99. I think my creative side was drawn to the cover. And after buying it I realized it was a young adult book, but the back cover reassured me that it is "a book for all ages." There are great reviews! And I guess you can't really go wrong when you see a gold Printz award on the cover. So we'll have to see if this was a good book to be judge by the cover. I'll let you know later with an update!

My Saturday.

This is what I had to work with today, a silly face. I actually did manage to get a couple good shots amazingly. And that shirt? I just love it. It was one that I got at Penny's for $1.
My plans for today were suppose to revolve around my pajamas and scrappin. I had a clean house, Jason was content with PBS, and Jacques was at work. Then just as I sat down to start a new page, it happened.. I was out of adhesive! Go figure. So there went the day. I had to get up and around, go to Joann's and Walmart (because I was already out) then had lunch at Fazzoil's. By now 2 hours had already gone by. When we got home, I had a message from a friend that needed a ride to Walmart to grocery shop (we live about 20+ minutes apart in separate towns.) This took over another 2 hours.. But when I got back home I went straight to my desk only to realize I had to make salsa from scratch for the game tomorrow. Now it is 8:15 and I am blogging and hoping to start that "first" layout. I am so tired. Zzzzzzz.
