Today after I picked Jason up from school we went to the Riverbanks Zoo.. It was lovely out, 75 with a light breeze. He wanted to visit the farm animals first.. We spent about half and hour there feeding all the goats and milking the fake cows, he loves this! I sat on a bench and he went through about $2 worth of quarters to feed them.. Occasionally he would drop a piece and miss the goat and I would hear him apologize to the goat.. "Sorry, Goat." He would say! So polite.
Then it was on to the turtles.. not the best photo but I love his face cause he just realized there were more in the corner and he could reach them.. so he hopped down and pet them all.
And another photo op.. usually he is annoyed with me, but today he was like "Take a picture of me" and "Ohhhh take a picture of that." I was thrilled to take more than 50 pictures on this trip.
And the letter of the week at preschool is Ii, so we snapped a photo of this Iguana for him to take to school tomorrow.. I thought it was a really good photo.. And they just had a photo contest at the zoo.. I missed the deadline..
Jason is such a climber too.. he was on all the fences and rocks. Wow, that cowlick really needs a trim!
And last we saw the gorillas who were really close to the glass.. We sat on the floor for a while by this big guy who is 23 years old. Another good photo.. While we were there, he rolled over onto his back and then to his other side, so we got to see his feet really up close too.. I guess I didn't realize that they had toe nails too.. Hmmmm.. you learn something new every day!
We also had lunch at the cafe on the patio. Later as we were walking Jason says, "My feet are so swollen" and hopped into the stroller.. Funny, I am the one 8.5 months pregnant with twins hiking the zoo for 3+ hours, and he is the one with the swollen feet! What a ham! It was a perfect day, all the animals were out and about, we even saw the anaconda moving around in his pool.. When we got to the car I asked Jason if he wanted to come back on Friday with me and daddy and he said, "Just with Dad." Ouch, that one hurt! Anyway..
