January's Thirty

4:26 am

guess what I am doing up? Rocking a baby. Zachary is not very sleepy right now. And I am ill. Today should be fun : )

only with twins.

so I am sitting with both twins in the rocker. Ryan spits out his pacifier and it goes into my armpit sleeve area then falls down into the shirt.. Weird. Then both boys are finally asleep on me. Ryan is sleeping hard and Zachary has just drifted off... then all of the sudden, I feel a wet spot.. Zachary's diaper leaked all over me.

sharing these today

I did have some time yesterday to catch up on the babies albums and realized that these sweet feet have not been shared. So that is what I am doing today.. Ryan's are the first set and Zachary's are the second set. Have a happy day : )

I know, scary right? The boys are giving me trouble this morning. I haven't got anything done. I need a shower and a headwash too. They haven't wanted to be on their own at all this morning. And Ryan.. Whewww! He is giving me a very hard time. The only reason I had time to post this is because they are both propped and chugging some milk. Both boys had a great night again. Ryan slept the whole night. Zach was up once for about 10-15 minutes around 3:50. Then went right back to sleep.. I better try to start some chores. Later.

eight weeks

Wow.. 4 more weeks gone by. The twins are eight weeks today. I called and schedule their check up for Friday. At this appointment, they each get 3 immunizations.. YIKES! Both boys are thriving and are just as cute as can be. Ryan is still bigger and I am anxious to see what he tips the scales at on Friday. Zachary is so serious all the time. And the last 2 nights in a row, they each only woke up once, ate and went right back to sleep. In fact, I was only up for 10 minutes with Ryan and that was at 1130. Jacques got up with Zach around 2 and I am not sure how long they were up. Then we all got up at 7. Wooohooooo! Photos: Ryan is on the left and is in the second photo. Can you guess where we spent this afternoon? That's right, at the Riverbanks Zoo! And this is my favorite photo from the day. Jacques wanted to get out of the house today and suggested the Z-O-O because it was sooooo lovely here today. It was also the twins first trip there. They enjoyed themselves.. well they may have been bored cause they slept the whole time. Anyway I will post more photos from the day on flickr..

I found these two in a pile of photos that need scrapped and wanted to share them. They are from May 2007 in Kansas. Love these shots.. and that hat has been through the ringer. It's a favorite. Happy Saturday : )

the offical report.

So here it is. Our first report card. Daddy got it first, not me and he bragged. We were both excited as two parents can be.. Here is what he got EXCELLENTS in. Reading Readiness: recognizes own name, recognizes alphabet, works from left to right, shows interests in books, understands counting order, recognizes 1-10, identifies shapes and sizes, knows alphabet in sequence, expresses ideas well, uses adequate vocabulary, speaks in complete sentences, tells a story in sequence, can print name, can print alphabet in sequence. Physical Development: dresses self, pastes neatly, controls pencil/scissors well, run/jump/climb well, can catch/bounce/throw, exhibits sufficient stamina. Art: eager to explore art media, imaginative with art materials, identifies color/shape/sizes. Music: shows enthusiasm for music, enjoys singing. Social Development: plays well with others, has made friends, shares and takes turns, is happy, is courteous, displays self control, respects property of others. Work Habits: observes rules, follows directions, has good attention span, works neatly, completes activities promptly, works well independently, uses materials correctly, takes care of materials, cleans up after work, finishes what has been started, value own work, is observant, is curious.

And now the satisfactory or what would be an A minus. In Language Development on "speaks clearly" something we already knew. He has a slight lisp that will take care of itself. In Physical Development on "able to relax" Again my fault, such a nervous person. In Social Development under "accepts school routine" "shows self confidence" and "adjusts easily to new situations".. I agree with all of these and thought the teacher was dead on for pointing them out. And under Work Habits "seeks help when needed" Hmmmmmmmm.. I would of thought he'd ask for help when needed. But no Biggie.

Well now that all of you who read this far are bored, I apologize.

it's been six days..

since I have scrapped. Not because I haven't had the time or the creativity; but I had company. So today with both babies asleep (AT THE SAME TIME) in their swings, I busted out the blank books and paint. Ta-Da! So here it is: My new blank book titled House Smart. It will house all my future home owner ideas. Someday I will have a house of my own and I have tons of to-dos to make the house my own. I will store my magazine clippings here, paint chips and anything else.. Can you imagine? Me, a homeowner?

a busy day

We had a great day here today! We went to Edventure Children's Museum. We did so much! We rode a camel, gathered eggs and milked a cow, played hockey, shopped, drove a fire engine and a new VW beetle, played music, and hosted a news broadcast. All in a days work! I will post more photos on flickr later.

We started the day with Jason's check up at the dentist. He did great as usual. And I am happy to report 20 PERFECT teeth! The hygienist told me, "Wow, Mom! His teeth are great." And then the dentist said, "They look really good. Good job." I was super excited! Glad to hear they are in outstanding shape!

After that we hit Starbucks and then headed over to the museum. We were there for a couple hours. Afterwards we went to the Mall for chinese cuisine and some recreational shopping.

We celebrated Jason's birthday yesterday at Leapin Lizzards. He had a blast and so did all of his guests! The cake was delicious : )

That's right! Jason's fairy Godmother, Becca Bell is here to spend the week : ) They are having a ball playing Elefun. And yes, Jason's shirt is on backwards and inside out, those are the white tags you see on the top of his shirt.

little things

Here is a project that I put together last week. It is a mini 4x6 index card album totally inspired by Ali. This project was in her 3rd book. (The pattern paper is from her 2nd book.) This will be an ongoing album that I leave out and add random things here and there. Its simple size makes it easy to throw in photos as is, a bonus! I will post some pages another time. Later.

Jason: My tooth is going to fall out today!
Me: Ummmm, no silly.
Jason: In a couple weeks it will?
Me: No, honey. Your teeth aren't loose yet.
Jason: Yeah huh! Your teeth fall out when you are five and the tooth fairy comes.

I think someone must have explained the whole "loseing your baby teeth" thing wrong. He expects to wake up toothless tomorrow morning... Hmmmmmmm? This is why he wants to be five.

6 weeks

Seriously are they already that old? Wow! Time sure flies when you are having fun. So about the boys right now. Both are starting to fit into more of their clothes and they have both grown out of their preemie sizes. They are in size one diapers. Both still love baths. And they are sleeping pretty good during the nights.

Ryan is still a ham. He can drink almost a full four ounces when he is really hungry. He is really good at holding his head up. You can tell he weights a lot more than Zachary when you pick him up. Ryan is great about spitting up all over his dad : )


Zachary is still a lot smaller than Ryan. He still drinks 2 ounces and if the flow of the milk is too fast, he about drowns in it. We are working on saying "Momma" but not much progress yet.


And a Jason update too: He will be turning 5 on Thursday the 17th and is way excited. We are having his party at a play place. He hasn't decided on his cake yet, but we sent out Spidey invitations. Also last night we were filling out the invitations and he asked who one was for and I said Hannah. Then he said, "Hannah is a pretty girl." This is the first time he has mentioned anything about a girl being pretty. Then we were talking about his friend Josh and how they don;t sit at the same table any more at school and he said, "I miss my old pal Josh." Hehehh.. where does he get these cute sayings?

Day 12/365

flicker is down so I am posting Day 12's photo here. This is me and Ryan testing out my new wireless remote control for my camera. Woohoo! I didn't plan on using these shots (note the wet head) but Ryan's smirk and bright eyes made it a favorite. I also got a shot of them together and a couple of Zachary too. I will post them all on flicker once it is up again. And I am happy to say that both boys are actually starting to fit into more of their clothing! And here they are : )

nothing exciting..

going on here. Just busy with babies : ) Jason is on the floor building with Legos while watching the original Peter Pan video. Jacques is rocking Ryan and Zachary is sound asleep in the bassinet. I am at the computer and exhausted. Thank Goodness it is Friday! The hubby will be off for two days. I did post a few photos from uncle ian's visit here.

new year, another new project

I made this really quick yesterday for Paper Adventure 08. It is made with cardboard from a leftover Christmas box.. creative, I know. Heheheh! And here is the first page, all simple with the theme of Balance (not that I have achieved it.) I am one page/word behind so hoping to get that caught up today.

todays twins

Just thought I'd share so photos of the boys. The first one is from today, and the last set are from the first. Ryan is on the left in all the photos, and Zachary is on the right. They are 4 weeks and 4 days old.

in review

I put this together over the last few days. It is a simple 4x6 mini album with the highlight photos from 2007. I had a huge stack of piles that need to go into a photo album, but I couldn't find an album that I liked and was tired of staring at the stack. So I came up with this alternative. Very simple.. all photos are double sided and most are stamped with the date. It is bound with book rings so I can always add more. I am going to go ahead and add file folder labels on some of the photos with the place or events. And I still need to date the cover too. I have over 100 photos in the book. So you want a book like this too for your photos? Post a comment and I will draw a winner on Friday

happy new year!

Happy New Year! I was up to ring it in this year, but only cause the twins were up. I am not cool enough to actually be up that late to party.. back in the day maybe, but not now : ) Well I have lots of projects to start off the new year, and to keep me busy through out it too. First off I am doing my Blank Book Blog with a daily art page. Then I am participating in Project 365 which I am way excited about. And thinking of doing another yearly journal for the family (see post below.) I am also following along with two other bloggers weekly paper projects. Paper Adventure 08 and The Best of Me Challenge. Feel free to join in any of these with me. It will be a good year.
