Mini for Today.

I made this little lovely a couple days ago for today's quick trip to Charlotte. Jordyn is headed home and we are taking her to the airport in North Carolina. Then we plan on making a day out of it. I hand stitched the binding and the inside is graph paper. Yum!

Two Pages and Two Books.

I read both of these over the last two days. At this point, I am almost losing count of how many I have read this year. But I am writing them down and these two make 22 and 23.

Mommywood By Tori Spelling has been on my to do list since it came out. I wanted my own copy, but not for $25 bucks. I added it to my library to do and I was like 23rd in line for the book. Ugh. There were a few times; I almost broke down and bought it. Book Review: Not nearly as good as her first book. It was a tell all and juicy. This was just not very good, and most of what she wrote was all on the tv show anyway. A fun read for a mom.. that's it. 237 pages

The Pull of the Ocean.. A super quick read, maybe 5 hours total, if that. It is a kids book that I picked up with the kids at the library. 190 pages and there are 3 sets of twin brothers in the book, FUN. It was a quick good story. It also made a reference to the painting The Rath of Medusa which I had never seen, so I looked it up. Neat. There was one line in the book that I loved: "They say twins are even more alike on rainy days."

I did these two pages over the weekend. Super simple, cute. Love that photo of Ryan. I think I may add July in front of the 2009 on his page.

Spent this afternoon at Barnes and Noble, had a venti coffee, black. Bought Jason a blank sketch book and Jordyn two novels.

Jordyn has her last karate class tonight, before leaving us on Wednesday.

I made a mini book for our quick trip to Charlotte for Wednesday. Photo later.

Tonight the hubby has a softball game. I will take the clan, but they do not know.

Zachary is sleeping. Ryan is out with daddy.

Three boys got three heads shaved today.

Yesterday we went to the Zoo, Chuck E Cheese and the mall.

Today I emailed Becca and called my mom.

I spent $5 at the Goodwill.

Photos up tomorrow or later here and on flickr.

Funny things said today.

Me: "Jason want to see a photo of your dad when he was younger ?"

Then I show him the photo and point Jacques out.

Jason: "He had hair?"

Jordyn and I talk about cobras..

Me: "It was probably an eygptian cobra that killed Cleopatra."

Jordyn: "Is that the cobra that has a hood?"

This is the part where I get giggly.. All cobra's have hoods.

Where's her sign?

Family Fun in Photos.

Daddy and Ryan this week out in the yard.

Jason made this Indiana Jones out of clay last night! I saw it and was amazed. Not only is this kid a whis with a paper and pen, but with modeling too.

A quick scrapbook page from last night. Photo from May at the Zoo.

July 17: Geese in the yard.

Last week, the geese wondered over to our front yard. I let the kids feed them some Vanilla Wafers. I noticed that they were pretty big for the geese so I told the kids to break each cookie in half. Then Jason says, "Yeah cause it looks like they could use some napkins."

More Fun, But Useless, Friday Facts.

Jason is packing for a sleepover that is not going to happen for a while. Perhaps 2010? He was so eager to pack, I finally agreed.

We had dirty rice for supper, as planned.

Jacques and I each took turns taking a child to karate. Jordyn is the highest ranking kid in her summer class. Jason needs to work on jumping jacks.

I did get to piddle around in my office with some paper and glue.

I made two sales in my etsy shop today for mini books. One ships to Canada.

I have an ongoing list of things to email to Bell.

Groceries cost $64.00 at Walmart.

The babies colored with crayons today. I also bought 4 new boxes of Crayolas for .25 cents each. I stock up every school year. I will buy more every trip until the sale is off. I love Crayolas and have been to a Crayola factory. My favorite color is Cerulean. I am also very found of the magentas and teal blues.

Look for a post with photos from last week tomorrow.

Friday.

I have two babies and a husband napping.

I finished my book and am reading for the next. That post will be later. I have read 22 books this year, and they aren't picture books either. They are memoirs, classics, fiction, non fiction and even some trashy ones too: )

Jason and Jordyn are at my feet with Legos.

Lincoln is outside in the sun stretched out.

I am desperately wanting to create now. Paper. Glue. Photos.

I have to go to Walmart, ugh.

We are having dirty rice for super. Nothing like some good cajun cookin. I wish I had some of those amazing boudin balls that Aunt Jori had for us last summer. I may shop online next for a website that brings it to my front door. Or call Jeff to bring some over.

Find me here today.

Ms Kara has me up on her super cute blog today with one of my blank mini books. Just click here to see me there. Thanks, Kara. Love what you did. Hugs, M

For one more day.

Wow. I just love the way Albom writes. This is my third book by him this year. He is an amazing story teller. I jot down lots of amazing lines from his books. This was a quick 197 page, two day read. I am already deep into my next book, a memoir. Here are some of my faves from this book.

"When someone is in your heart, they are never truly gone."

"The more you defend a lie, the angrier you become."

"Something is always happening somewhere."

"Sticking with your family is what makes it a family."

"You can find something truly important in an ordinary minute."

"But behind all your stories is always your mothers story, because hers is where yours truly begins."

Lovely Large Lincoln.

Today Lincoln had his monthly check up and weighed in at an amazing 35 pounds. Wow. That's a lot. He is just the best dog and has not had an accident in quite a while. The vet said he is such a lovely, pretty dog. We get a ton of compliments every time he goes in and a lot of people asking what breed too. He got two shots and his next check up is in August and will also include some nut cutting. Doesn't that sound like good times? The vet also said we should probably think about get him chipped because "someone would defiantly try to steal a dog like this." Oh and she also told us it was time to get Lincoln a "big boy" collar and leash.

July Read No. Three

Another read for July. This was my first Kindle purchase and another quick read. It was my third book by Christine Warren in the last few months, and I intend to read all her books. They are just so yummy. I know Bell would agree ; ) I also saved $4 bucks by purchasing it on the Kindle instead of paperback. This is the 21 book I have read this year. Pages 352

Inspired by Love and Paper.

July 17: Chuck E Cheese

Just a few photos from Chuck E Cheese. We celebrated Jason's half birthday there last week. The kids had like 350+ tickets. It was some amazing fun, and even the babies did really well. We even left with a ton of tokens. More photos up on flickr. Here's Two Cheers for Tuesday, Hooray Hooray!

Monday.

I was up at 6:13 and chugged two cups of lifesaving liquid.

I changed numerous earth shattering diapers from multiple babies.

I am sitting at the computer instead of with my book.

I finished the last 40+ pages of my first book on Kindle. Then started another hard back book and am 50+ pages into it.

I cooked mac and cheese and hot dogs for super.

I bathed two babies and got them both off to bed by 830.

I spent $18 on necessities at Walmart.

I needed to go to the post office, but did not make it.

I took two kids to karate for a total of 90 minutes.

I spoke to Lewis and emailed Bell.

Now I am off to couch with book.

Breaking News..

Moments ago, Jason lost his very first tooth! He came running out of his room, "Mom is my lip bleeding?" He shows me his mouth and I say, "Yep. You just lost your tooth." He didn't even realize what had happened. He had fallen and busted his mouth and that was all it took. It was just a little wiggly too. I have already been in contact with the Tooth Fairy and I can say he is probably at the ATM as we speak ; ) One tooth down, nineteen teeth to go.

Just Checking In.. Be back Later.

Hey. We are home from Jason's day at Chuck E Cheese and I have photos from that too. These are from July 5 at the SC State Museum.. Proof that I do go on all of our adventures, I am just usually always behind the camera. Ummmmmmmmmm don't you just love the skinnier me? Look at that bod! Hooray.. More photos up on flickr.

Confusion and delay.

I have 50 photos to edit and even more to post. Plus I have a photo order of 90+ photos that have needed picked up at Walgreens since Sunday.

We have library books due today, plus speech and karate.

I have bought my first Kindle book this morning and am now 5 chapters in. The book was $4 less than the published paperback version. It is a one click buy and was on the Kindle within seconds. Plus I have found out that I can read it, one handed, while holding a baby. I can not read a book, one handed at all or even while holding a baby.

Ian took a book recommendation, The Loch, read and like it in one day. Go Ian!

Tomorrow we are celebrating Jason's half birthday at Chuck E Cheese.

This weekend, I will take Jordyn to see HP6 in theaters.

This weekend is the library book sale. I have a coupon for 3 free books.

This weekend, my best friend will meet her future hubby.

On Tuesday, Coraline comes out on DVD. I am excited. Both Jordyn and I have read the book and are looking forward to the movie.

The Dr. gave Ryan the "something viral." Of course his fever was down when we were there, but as soon as we were home he was in 103 again. Ugh. He was sleepy and grouchy the rest of the day, but went down easily for bedtime and stayed there through out the night.

Today Zachary is running a low fever. Round Two. Ding Ding.

When my Kindle arrived, I opened the package and Jason said, "Jordyn, it doesn't look evil." He was so serious and matter of factly CUTE.

Later I said to Jordyn, "I have to charge the Kindle for less than 3 hours." She replied, "You never have to charge a book." Ouuch! Score. Good one, Kid.

Myrtle Beach 'o8: Barefoot Wondering.

I could have posted this at 2 a.m.

This morning's post is brought to you by a Mommy Zombie. I was up with Ryan from 11:35 to 1:00 am. I managed to crawl back in my bed from 1:05 till 2:00. And have been up ever since. You heard me, bloggers, up since 2 a.m. Ryan was restless, hot and miserable. We hung out in the recliner all night watching reruns of Tori and Dean. Jacques left for work at 4 and asked if we needed a blanket. But since my little Lupine, Ryan, was running at a hot 103, we were good. No space heater needed. I called the Doc and we are going in at 1:40. I think he must have an ear infection or a sore throat. More later after the appointment.

a read and an update.

I think this is the 2nd July read. It was a quick read, 2 days maybe? Just 327 pages. It is the 7th book in the series of The Others. I read book 6 in May. Now I will read book 5 or 1, on my Kindle, that will arrive today. Each book can stand alone. (And I should mention that it will cost $4 less to purchase the next book on the Kindle instead of in print.) Bell also read book 6 and loved it, and now my copy is in Shawna's hands. I also have 3 others lined up to bum my book. Bell- Now this one is headed your way. I may have liked it better than book 6 even.

On to the Dakes, mainly Ryan. He is ill and has been since late Sunday evening. He ran a fever in the 102's and upchucked a few smelly times. Yesterday he was crabby but a little cooler. Then again in the evening, he was at 103 with more terribly smelly upchuck. We were up from 1135-235 last night. He was very restless and extremely hot. This morning he is still running high at 103-102. We are dosing him with Motrin.

Jason is now not only obsessed with Indiana/Harrison Ford but also loves Mick Dundee/Paul Hogan. He is some sort of character, Jason. We will also be celebrating his half birthday this Friday with a party at Chuck E Cheese. He is looking forward to that as well as a trip to the bookstore.

Now I am off to wait at the front step for the FedEx man.

July 5: SC State Museum

On the 5th, we took the kids to the state museum. We had not been there since June 2007. It is pricey to get in, but on the first Sunday of the month, admission is $1 so I had planned on getting us there. There are 4 floors packed full of neat things, but we only concoured 3 of them. Plus there is a kid's play area, and we spent the rest of the day in there. It was such fun and the babies loved it. In the picture above, they are pointing at a large dino skeleton. Zachary is saying "Hello" on the phone. He loves snakes and know that a snake says, "Ssss." Look for more photos up on flickr later.
